She has this amazing retro style that is played up in her makeup and with a few simple tricks you can pull of the same fresh fun makeup style.

1. Start off with a clean even base by applying your foundation all over.

2. BROWS are a must do with this retro look, lightly powder in your brows in a shade either one shade lighter for people with darker hair of one shade darker for you blonde ladies. Lift’s Toffee or Taupe ($15) make a great brow powder.

3. Highlight and contour your eyes with soft tones such as Lift’s Vanilla Ice and Steel Mist ($15)

4. LINER! To get that retro eye line map out the line first with a shadow like Lift’s Chocolate Brown Shadow ($15) then apply your liquid liner on top of that sweeping up at the outer edge of the eye.

5. Finish off with some COLOUR sweep a warm coloured blush like Lifts Natural Glow ($16) and then dab your lipstick onto your lips with your finger tip! Try Lift’s Summer Solstice lipstick ($17.50) for a warm pop of colour.

Celebrity Make-up Artist Chooses LIFT Cosmetics, again!

I don't know about you Ladies, but I'm a sucker for The Hills and The City... I think mostly it's to see the hair, make-up and fashion, but I wont deny that I also love watching the drama!

I recently have been chatting back and forth with MTV Make-up artist, LUCKY and as you may know she has been using some LIFT Cosmetics on Host - Jessi.

I wanted to share the latest look with you! I adore a red lip, but it must be done properly! Lucky has the perfect touch! Here's what she used:

This look may be a bit strong for day to day wear, but if you tone it down a little (we don't need TV make-up) than it could be worn any day of the week!

For a more summer friendly red lip, visit us, to try our new Lip Gloss - Arriving on Shelves June 1st! "Mint Sunburst" is the perfect summer red!

Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis

Oh Dear, Jackie O!

If you say her name "Jackie O," Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis an image is easily brought to mind!
This is a true sign of a Style Icon.
Big Sun Glasses.Pill Box Hats.String of Pearls.Tailored Jackets.A-Line Dresses with Bows.
Jackie O - oozed class, elegance and style!
This Classic Beauty Stayed true to herself in clothes, make-up and hair!
I always say, "Emphasize your natural beauty, Don't mask your flaws!"

Jackie did just this, she kept her hair colour so close to her natural, just gave it a little extra warmth to brighten her skin and always wore what MUA's know as "straight make-up" on her face!

Here's her make-up trick!
 1. Apply a light foundation, allowing your natural tones to show threw - freckles and all!
2. Fill the brows to give strength to the face.
3. Apply a subtle highlight to the inner eye, on the brow bone and the cheek bones.
4. On the Uppler Lash Line, line from the outer eye in, 3/4 of the way with a chestnut brown.
5.  Use the same liner to line your lower water line 3/4 aswel.
6. With a warm brown shadow about 4 shades darker than your skin tone, contour your eye by sweeping it at the crease.
7. Apply lots of mascara!
8. Use a soft natural shade of blush, sweep across the cheeks and the bridge of the nose.
9. Use a light contouring blush in the hollows of the cheeks to add depth to the face and to accentuate your cheek bones.
10. To add a pop, Jackie played with different shades of pink! It gave her otherwise natural look, a bit of a fashionable, and youthful flare!

My Fav' for this look "Crush" by Lift Cosmetics
It's a Vanilla Bean Mineral Lip Stick...

Love that Dewy Look! But Can You pull it off with problematic Skin?

Since the early Age of 13 I have been cursed with the plague of BAD skin!
I remember my 2 childhood BFF's and I obsessing over our skin DAILY!
It seems they have both grown out of it, but I still have problematic areas on my face.

For the past 12 years I have been using pressed powder to cover my blemishes and even out my skin tone! I have been faithful to my powder but have always been jealous of those girls with a DEWY-GLOWING finish to their skin!
Hayden Panettiere is one of the many celebs who's been wearing her make-up with a dewy finish! How Gorgeous!!
The Dew makes the skin look so healthy and moist, I figured because of my problematic T-Zone, I would never be able to rock the dewy look!

That was, Until Last Week...

I believe it was early on a Wednesday morning when in a rush to get to work I dropped my precious pressed powder on my hardwood floor! It shattered EVERYWHERE!!!

Not only was I upset about having to clean up the floor, but I kinda panicked about having to leave the house with my blemished skin EXPOSED!

It was then, that I started hunting threw my make-up stash in hopes of finding some sort of remedy for my problem!

I found a LIFT Cosmetics' Flawless Finish Compact! I know my fellow Lift Beauty Girl; Lauren uses the product daily and our clients RAVE about it, but to be honest I personally never gave it a shot because I was dedicated to our Duo Powder.

Our Flawless Finish is a cream foundation with a bunch of benefits:
It's a 3 in one - conceals, blends like a foundation, and sets itself with a glowing finish - Not only does it make your skin look healthy and glowy, but it has antioxidants in it, so its good for your skin!

Okay, I used the "FF" all over my face and felt totally fresh and glowy for the first time EVER! So exciting. My road kill powder compact had a tiny remnant of DUO so I figured I would use it to set my problem area (my t-zone) and my eyelids. I finished my cheeks, lips and eyes and went to work feeling fresh and looking DEWY!!

Each client that walked threw the door made a different comment all pertaining to how "healthy" and "bright" I looked! Great day for my confidence!!! I haven't gone back - FF, I love the Glow you give me!

*Read tomorrow's posts to get MORE tips and tricks on how to get that "Dewy look without having to use tons of bronzer and shimmer! Lets keep it looking natural for summer.

Matchy Matchy

Apparently matching your lips to your attire is BACK!
Which means... all of you ladies can justify needing a lip shade for every outfit.
*Uh Oh*  For me, that means lots of lip gear. It isn’t a secret that my true love and constant in life (other than my hair, make-up and nail addiction) is clothing and accessories. If my boyfriend was reading this, I’m pretty sure he’d be offended. He’s only been around for 2 years, you girls know how it is... the love of fashion has been fixed in my life since I’ve been old enough to understand it,  I can totally blame my Mother for that!
P.S. BoyFriend: If you’re reading - I LOVE YOU MORE THAN ANYTHING! *Damage control.
My trick to stay in the budget while still having a lip colour to be Matchy Matchy with every outfit: The Lift Cosmetics Mineral Vanilla Bean Line. I have 5 of the 11 shades in my personal make-up stash and I find that they go with anything and everything

Grammy Looks Breakdown

This year's Grammy's definitely did not disappoint! I could talk about the music and my opinion on who truly
deserved which award... but instead, lets talk HAIR, MAKE-UP, and NAILS!

Dear Miley, we appreciate you BEING your age! Your look for the Grammy’s was current and very age appropriate! Your slightly off center part is PERFECT for your face shape... lets keep it there! Oh and your make-up artist deserves a raise - thanks for NOT over doing it!

FACT:
Your part can make the proportions of your face look completely different! Play with your part to see what looks best with your features!

Taylor, you have been playing with this, “Old Hollywood Glam” look for a while now. Although you always look beautiful, we’d love to see something different on you! You could get away with almost any look! Just don’t ever change the STUNNING hair colour! XO

Lea, WE LOVE YOU! It isn’t a secret that you can often walk into LBB and hear the soundtrack of Glee over the humming noise of our blow dryers! Last night Lea showed class and elegance in her fun and flirty Grammy look!

This lovely lady is showing all of our predictions for make-up: heavy mascara, beautiful highlight and a soft and subtle lip! Looks a lot like Lift Cosmetic’s “Serene” lip stick! *On sale right now for $10.00! Come try it on!

Get the Look: Loose Waves

As Promised...
The infamous loose wave that I’m asked for atleast 3 times a day! Okay ladies, here’s the trick for at home!

Step One: Have yourself a nice hot shower after your dinner!
Step Two: Towel dry your locks.
Step Three: Take your brush/comb and toss it in a drawer!
Step Four: Spray your roots with Osis GLAMOUR QUEEN! This stuff will amaze you!
Step Five: Finger comb your hair (from mid-shaft to ends) with BUFF - also Osis! (Use a loonie size amount)
Step Six: Check your facebook, watch the bachelor, call your best friend. Ie. Let your hair dry naturally until it’s just damp!
Step Seven: When you’re ready to tuck yourself into bed take 2 minutes section your hair into 4 quadrants. Loosely twist each section and pin them into loose buns!
Step Eight: Get yourself some sweet shut eye!
Step Nine: Rise and Shine, plus the pins out, and finger comb your dry hair.
Step Ten: Perfect the look by touching up a strand here and there by twisting it around a flat iron or large barrel curling iron! NOTE: Always curl AWAY from the face! Add some DUST IT (Osis again!) at the root, toss your head upside down, spray all over with more GLAMOUR QUEEN.... Scrunch with your hands, flip over and TADDA!!! You have tousled loose waves like all of the celebs!

Can't wait to watch the Grammy's and discuss the pretty hair and makeup trends!

Grammy Beauty Predictions

Grammy count down! T-2 Days... confession. I may not be watching the Grammy’s (or any award show, for that matter) for the right reasons!!! I LOVE THE HAIR, MAKE-UP and FASHION!

Of course I love the talent, but mostly I love seeing what the celebs look like on the red carpet. It gives me inspiration for when you lovely ladies come in! What do we expect for the Grammy’s?

My guess is that the beauties will be sporting all of the up coming trends for SPRING! (If only we Canadians didn’t have to wait so long to see some Spring weather!)

Taylor Swift Grammy look 2009

The Look:
Lips: A sheer lipstick, almost gloss-like. Try Lift Cosmetic’s “Crush".
Eyes: Heavy on MASCARA and loads of highlighting.
Hair: SOFT voluminous waves, all down, half up, low tousled bun. You’ll see it all!

Check back tomorrow for some tips on getting those loose waves!

What looks do you think celebrities will be rocking at the Grammy's?
