Here on the Lift Beauty Boutique Blog, I write about numerous product lines, but predominantly when discussing make-up I refer to Lift Cosmetics. 

So, here's the basic info about Lift Cosmetics...

Lift Cosmetics was developed with the consumer in
mind, by two Canadian makeup artists Emily and Lauren. 

Lift Cosmetic products are price
conscious as well as skin conscious.
Fortified with anti-oxidants, vitamins and
proteins to strengthen your skin, Lift Cosmetics
are as good for your skin as they are easy to
use. With a wide range of colours to choose
from you are sure to find the look that’s perfect
for you and your skin. 

 Lip Glosses: Lift Cosmetics Glosses are loved for their easy application, shiny appearance, long lasting wear and non-sticky finish. With antioxidants, proteins and oils that moisturize and repair much like a balm, you lips are sure to notice the difference.

Hint of Mint Lip Glosses: Hint of Mint Lip
Glosses are formulated with all of the same
enriching ingredients and benefits as our
original Lip Glosses. These super hydrating

Glosses have the added benefit of Aloe,
Vitamins C and E and have an appealing
Spearmint scent and flavour.

Lip Plumper: Our Lip Plumping Gloss uses
peppermint extract to plump your lips naturally
with a gentle tingle. This formula also
features the moisturizing benefit of Avocado
and Jojoba Seed Oil.

Lipsticks: Lift Cosmetic Lipsticks are enriched with Vitamin E, Anti-Oxidants and other lip pampering ingredients to ensure proper hydration. The long lasting formula is available in a wide range of rich colours as well as matte and gloss shine formulas.

Mineral Lipsticks: These are a relatively new addition to the family. These lipsticks have a high concentration of Vitamin E which acts like a treatments for your lips! But not only that, they are infused with Tangerine and Vanilla Oil for moisture and a wonderful light scent.

Eyeshadows: Lift Eye Shadows are triple-milled for a silky texture to allow for the smoothest application and extreme blend-ability. These Shadows are oil-free, and can be used wet or dry,and are available in matte or pearl finishes.

Blush: Similar to Lift Eye Shadows, our Blushes are triple milled for an easy and blend-able application. These silky blushes are available in a wide spectrum of colours and finishes, matte, shimmery, pearl or pixie.

*We have a Classic Collection of 15 Blushes that range from highlighters to contours and everything in between. Just like our eye shadows we launch limited edition collections periodically over the year. 

Super Lash Mascara: Our Super Lash Mascara is a treat for your lashes,with conditioning ingredients such as Vitamin E and Keratin. Not only does our mascara take care of lashes, it also extends and thickens them for a more youthful look. With the large applicator wand this mascara will coat lashes in one quick sweep while the conditioning properties keep lashes soft all day long so the mascara doesn’t flake.

 Lash Primer: Our ultimate lash primer will help add length and thickness to your lashes, while also enriching and conditioning them with soy protein. This product is applied before mascara, to protect the lashes from breakage. We condition our hair, we should also condition our lashes.

Brow Gel: This clear non-sticky gel dried super fast and will keep your brows in place all day.

 Flawless Finish: One of our best sellers! This oil-free creme to powder foundation evens skin tone. Flawless finish can be used as a concealer or a foundation leaving the skin with a gorgeous dewy look. FF has an oil absorbing formula which helps with problematic skin. 

Camo Concealer: Our rich and creamy formula covers skin imperfections
with ease. Camo Concealer is water (tear) resistant and easy to blend with a tone of pigment making it simple to cover scars, birthmarks or hard to conceal areas and tattoos! 

 

Dual Powder: Our full coverage compact powder can be used wet or dry. It's perfect for any skin type and lasts forever! It's formula prevents settling into fine lines and looks super natural.

 

Lift Bronzers: Our bronzers come in a generous compact! Triple milled for extremely blend-able and layer-able application.  Our bronzers are oil-free and can be used on the body or face!

 

 

 

 

 

Lift Lip Pencils: They say your lips are the first body part to show again. Our lip liners are infused with anti-oxidants to help the problem. Their creamy formulation glides on with ease, great for lining or filing the entire lip!

Lift Eye Pencil: Extra Creamy formula to prevent pulling on the sensitive skin of the eye! These liners make application quick and easy!

Great Trick for a NEW Dewy 5 Min Face Routine!

Have you ever tried to use your favorite powder blush on dewy finish skin???

Doesn't work so well does it?? 

Usually ends up looking to heavy, blotchy and/or streaky!

Here's my simple 5 minute Face for DEWY SKIN:

1. Tone, Mist, SPF Moisturize..
2. Cream Foundation - set t-zone and eye area with powder...
3. Rub your FAV lip colour on the back of your hand and use your ring finger to pick up a small amount of the pigment! With a dabbing motion apply it to the apples of your cheeks. Smooth and blend the colour with your clean middle finger! (Why buy a cream blush when you have a ton of beautiful lipstick shades in your cosmetics bag?)
4. Use the same technique with a light-shimmery lipstick to add a highlight on the cheekbones and inner eye!
5. Add Eye-Liner, Mascara and a lip colour - Gloss or Stick and tadaa!!! You're done!

Looks dewy, flawless, natural and it's super quick...

On the Road again with The Lift Beauty Girls!

This weekend I had the honor of working, yet again, with one of my favorite ladies - Joy of The Amazing Make-upJunkie Blog

Bridal season is in FULL swing - Joy and I will be helping to make a number of brides dreams come true this year!

On Saturday we were warmly welcomed into Bride-Christina's home, where we met her adorable family and friends!

 Christina and Her Groom Bruno - Who we unfortunately didn't get to meet - were lucky with amazing weather and incredibly sweet and supportive family and friends!

 Christina asked for a classic bun with a modern flare, to match her modernized version of the traditional Lace Bridal Gown - By adding texture and volume to the the classic chinion I was able to give Christina exactly what she was looking for!

 Christina did ask for a natural look at her trial but as Joy completed what she had asked for, Christina realized she wanted a bit more! With a slight smoke on the eye, and a not so natural lip color Christina looked like herself, but totally glamorous for her big day!

Okay, So Lets talk Bridal Trends for Summer 2010:

Hair

Last Year most of my brides were asking to wear their hair down, with a loose wave. A soft, natural look. 

This Year it seems, most of my brides are asking for an updo! Most of them are still wanting that soft loose curl, but all UP! 

Make-Up

Last Year I think I heard "I want to look VERY natural," every time we did a bride.

This Year our brides and brides-maids want DRAMA! Smokey eyes, a strong lip, and dewy skin!

*Every Bride is different but these are some of the trends I'm noticing more often than not!

I'll Have the French Manicure of Make-up Please!

A few weeks ago the Lift Beauty Girls where given the Honour of Dolling Up some of the U of T, Law Graduates for their "Law Ball!"

 

When Lauren asked one of the Beauties;

"So what do you wanna do with your Make-up today?"  

Her friend piped up from my hair chair, and said:

"She wants the French Manicure of Make-up!"

Looking Classy, Elegant & put together, while still looking like yourself! 

 

Here's how to get your "French Manicure of Make-up"

• Prep your skin: Exfoliate, Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize. Mix some concealer into your Moisturizer.

*Try Lift's Alpha Hydroxy Skin Care Line 

• Dust a Dual Powder over your entire face & under the jaw. Use a sponge or stiff brush to apply a more concentrated amount of powder on the eye-lid and under the eye

• Highlight the Face: Using a matte nude shadow that is lighter than your skin tone apply to the Cheek Bones, Inner Eye, eye lid - crease down to lash line, under the bottom last line, Brow Bone, Nose and chin.

*Try 'Vanilla Sky' or 'Snow White'

• Contour the Face: Using a matte Bronzer or Neutral Blush that is slightly darker than your skin tone apply to the hollows of your cheeks, crease of the eye, under the Jaw and press a little into the bottom lash line.

*I like to use 'Natural Glow' or 'Dusk' 

• Add a Wash of Colour: Using a soft matte, shimmery or pearl blush of your choice, with a large fluffy brush add a soft wash of colour to the apples of your cheeks, across the bridge of the nose, and a quick sweep over the eyes.

*'Temptress' adds a nice glow and pop of colour

• Define your Eyes: Using a Dark Brown or Black Liner, line the top lash line from the outside - 3/4 of the way in. Keep it a THIN and crisp line!

* Lift's "Chestnut Liner looks perfect

• LASHES: Coat those lashes with lots of mascara, avoid clumping mascara!

* Black/Brown Super Lash Mascara gives length without clumping

• Enhance your Lips: Apply a clear gloss over a Lipstick that's just slightly richer than your natural lip colour!

Tuesday = Weekend Gossip Sesh!

IceFest & Birthday PARTY...

Okay, so the ice sculptures were totally breath taking! It's amazing how detailed they were! I'm assuming the Canadian theme was in honour of Canada hosting the Olympics. Someone should have sent these Toronto ice artists out to BC to help with the opening ceremonies!

 *Sorry to those clients who were trying to get to us on Saturday - traffic was insane and Cumberland Street was closed!

So the VIBE at LBB on Saturday was absolutely amazing which put me in the BEST mood... which was necessary for my BIRTHDAY PARTY!!! My birthday was officially spread over 4 WEEKS this year... Tee-hehe

After a LONG day at work, I'm not usually in the mood to socialized. I have a habit of putting on my PJ's and plopping myself on my couch for the night! But my BF and I had committed to hosting an annual party in honour of both of our Birthday's. We do it every year and it's always a great time, lots of food, drinks and friends!

This year was NO exception!! Our place was filled with LOVE, laughter, friendship and of course ICE CREAM CAKE!

Mmmmm Yummmy!

Although I had made it clear on the invite that the party would be super casual, as the HOST and Birthday Girl I felt it wasn't appropriate to be plopped on the couch in my PJ's.

I decided to go for an "unpolished, feminine chick" look!

Here's how I put it together:

HAIR:

- Wrapped large sections of my hair around a medium sizes curling iron and sprayed (before and after) with Glamour Queen!

- With a tinny clip, I tucked a few locks away from my face and secured them at the nap of my neck!

MAKE-UP:

- Some people say NO bronzer in the winter.... I'm not those people! As long as you have the right shade of bronzer you can get away with it year round and I definitely made that statement at my bday party!

- I used some warm Chestnut Eye Liner, and a soft pink shimmer on my inner eyes and cheek bones... LOADS of mascara and completed it with a soft lip; Flirt *my go to lip shade!

ATTIRE:

IT WAS HOT IN HERE (Temperature!)

- So I threw on a soft rose coloured, racer back tank and layered on top of it a winter white lace cami (casual but cute)..

- Dark denim - wide leg jeans, and caramel coloured oxford shoes!

- and to pull it all together, a long strand of pearls and a stunning gold key necklace (Thanks to my old friend Lauren!)
