Kim Kardashian’s pictures are everywhere. As much as we all covet her beautiful mane, her makeup is also always flawless. Working those smoky eyes, golden bronzed skin and a super soft lip is in reach for you too. Just follow our tips!

1. Even out your skin tone with some Flawless Finish ($22) from Lift Cosmetics. Then get the perfect bronzed look by applying Lift’s Sun Touched Bronzer ($18) all over and Lift’s White Gold Eye shadow ($15) on your cheekbones to highlight.

2. Get that sultry smoky look with Lift’s Snow White, Nearly Natural, Taupe, and Black Magic ($15 each) Use the lightest colour on brow bone and the inner corner of the eye. Then apply nearly natural all over the lid and on your lower lash line. Add Taupe to your lash line and outer edge of the eye and then finish off by smudging black magic into the eye line.

3. Define your eyes a little more by adding Lift’s Onyx eyeliner ($14.50) and TONS of Super Lash Black Mascara ($16)

4. Finish it all off with a muted nude lip colour! Try Lift’s Crush or Flirt ($17.50 each)

So, it has been 3 months since I...

As a result; My TweetDeck doesn't shut up, my BlackBerry buzzes constantly with Facebook updates and my email inbox is rammed with questions and comments from this blog! Although sometimes I feel like I have developed A.D.D because of all of this, I absolutely LOVE it!!!

Over past 3 months; I have had over 100 people click follow @LiftBeautyGirls on Twitter, over 200 people become Fans of Lift Beauty Boutique on Facebook and 25 people become official followers on this blog. *I must not forget to mention the MANY nameless hits/clicks that we get daily on our blog and website! 

I want to thank all of you for giving me the confidence to do this by giving great feedback and checking in regularly. I hope that these numbers will only increase dramatically over time! Psst.. Tell your friends! hehe

I'll Have the French Manicure of Make-up Please!

A few weeks ago the Lift Beauty Girls where given the Honour of Dolling Up some of the U of T, Law Graduates for their "Law Ball!"

 

When Lauren asked one of the Beauties;

"So what do you wanna do with your Make-up today?"  

Her friend piped up from my hair chair, and said:

"She wants the French Manicure of Make-up!"

Looking Classy, Elegant & put together, while still looking like yourself! 

 

Here's how to get your "French Manicure of Make-up"

• Prep your skin: Exfoliate, Cleanse, Tone & Moisturize. Mix some concealer into your Moisturizer.

*Try Lift's Alpha Hydroxy Skin Care Line 

• Dust a Dual Powder over your entire face & under the jaw. Use a sponge or stiff brush to apply a more concentrated amount of powder on the eye-lid and under the eye

• Highlight the Face: Using a matte nude shadow that is lighter than your skin tone apply to the Cheek Bones, Inner Eye, eye lid - crease down to lash line, under the bottom last line, Brow Bone, Nose and chin.

*Try 'Vanilla Sky' or 'Snow White'

• Contour the Face: Using a matte Bronzer or Neutral Blush that is slightly darker than your skin tone apply to the hollows of your cheeks, crease of the eye, under the Jaw and press a little into the bottom lash line.

*I like to use 'Natural Glow' or 'Dusk' 

• Add a Wash of Colour: Using a soft matte, shimmery or pearl blush of your choice, with a large fluffy brush add a soft wash of colour to the apples of your cheeks, across the bridge of the nose, and a quick sweep over the eyes.

*'Temptress' adds a nice glow and pop of colour

• Define your Eyes: Using a Dark Brown or Black Liner, line the top lash line from the outside - 3/4 of the way in. Keep it a THIN and crisp line!

* Lift's "Chestnut Liner looks perfect

• LASHES: Coat those lashes with lots of mascara, avoid clumping mascara!

* Black/Brown Super Lash Mascara gives length without clumping

• Enhance your Lips: Apply a clear gloss over a Lipstick that's just slightly richer than your natural lip colour!

*My Fav: 'Flirt' vanilla bean mineral lipstick under Lift's Clear Lip Plumper!

Nail Polish Gone Green!

Over the past few weeks I have been hearing SOOO much about Green Polish. Between St. Patty's day, and O.P.I's Launch of "Jade is the New Black" which is part of their Hong Kong Collection; I've been seeing green EVERYWHERE!

At Lift we weren't carrying anything even remotely similar, which caused some major curiosity and total ENVY!

So I did some research and found:

 

"Jade is the New Black" By OPI

and 

"Wandering Vine" By Orly 

*(I have always been loyal to Orly because they are free of DBP, Formaldehyde, and Toluene.)

Here's the truth: it has taken me a LONG time to get on this Green Band Wagon because I'm not the biggest fan of Green/Blue polishes. I can't seem to put my finger on what it is that bothers me about these colours as polish, but I know they are super HOT right now!

So I gave "Wandering Vine," a shot, to see what all the Hype was about...

I absolutely LOVED the colour in the bottle... but when I finished my polish change I couldn't help but feel a little disappointed that I spent the time doing it, with this colour! Don't get me wrong, it is definitely pretty, I just don't think it's fitting for a nail lacquer. 

I generally use this colour for home decor items or MAYBE an eye liner...

My review: 
The Product it self is flawless; smooth, rich, creamy and super easy to apply. *Just like ALL Orly Polish.
The Colour; Not for me... my nails sparked conversation with clients... but most of them admitted that they wouldn't sport it themselves!

Looks like Lift Beauty Boutique wont be following this trend!

Here's the truth, the only one RAVING about my Green nails was my BF! When he saw my nails a silly little smile crept over his face and he said; "Good Work E, you're showing support for the Boston Celtics!" (He's a major fan of the team!) I let him believe that I used this colour just for HIM and the Celtics!

Gossip Sesh on My weekend, and a NEW CONTEST!

LIFT Cosmetics Get the Look: Bronzed Tropics Summer 2009

Summer time is all about summer fun especially when it comes to your makeup. Lift Cosmetics wants to help you get this season's hottest looks. Think tropical and sun-kissed and let your lips be the center of attention. Update your makeup bag with sheer shimmery shadows, colourful liners, golden-based blushes, and lip products in corals and oranges all from Lift Cosmetics!

Get the Look:

Step 1: Even out the skin tone with Lift Cosmetics' triple milled Dual Finish Powder only where needed. The point is to look flawless without the mask effect.


Step 2: You want your eyes to remain neutral but with a sheer wash of colour. Try #186 shadow, a golden-olive shadow from lash line to crease. Apply the same shade to the bottom lash line as well. To add some fun to the look we recommend using a coloured liner like Lift's Emerald Pencil Eye Liner. For an edgier evening look, use the Emerald liner on the top and bottom and smudge. Add a couple coats of our Waterproof Black Mascara which never smudges, clumps and contains nourishing ingredients for healthy lashes.

Step 3: Give your skin a beautiful bronzed glow with our triple milled Powder Bronzer (comes in 4 colours from light to dark). Apply bronzer where the sun would naturally hit you: cheekbones, forehead, nose, and chin. To enhance your bronzed skin apply Cupid's Kiss, an amber gold blush to the apples of the cheeks.

Step 4: These days, it's cool to wear lipstick. Lipstick is the sophisticated way to wear colour. If you normally shy away from these little sticks of colour, Lift has just the lipstick for you! Our Lipglass line looks like a lipstick but has the feel and look of a gloss! This season's hottest shade is Summer Solstice, a gorgeous coral-orange. To wear like a stain, apply lipstick and then blot with a tissue or use your fingers to apply.
